As this amazing school year comes to a close, we reminisce on the great times that have been brought by it.

First off, Purdue Football had an excellent season as they went 8 and 4 on the regular season and won the Music City Bowl Game in a thrilling overtime fashion. We continued our tradition of upsetting the nation’s top teams by taking down Iowa early on in the season and following it up with the dismantling of Michigan State at home. Students celebrated the amazing win over Michigan State by rushing the field.

Purdue Football wasn’t the only Purdue sports team that found some success. Although the Purdue Basketball team wasn’t able to capture a national championship, they did, for the first time in Purdue’s history, rank number 1 in the AP Poll. Yes, that’s right, for a brief period of time we were the best basketball team in the nation.
Purdue: 77 – Iowa: 70

Besides Purdue sports, many other traditions continued on, including sledding at Slayter Hill. As the first snowfall came down, hundreds of students crowded the top of Slayter Hill with everything from cardboard boxes and trash bags to mattresses, couches, and even a bed. Amidst the cold winter night, students cheered and laughed for hours on end.

This past year has been filled with countless joyful moments and memories ranging from Purdue sports to Slayter Hill. I personally would like to thank Purdue, the students, and the faculty for what was truly an outstanding year!
